Record Store Day is fast approaching so start your shopping list now! To get you started, Tucson based, Fort Lowell Records has announced their latest release – Howe Gelb’s “Sno Angel.”
Fort Lowell Records’ 6th release will be for Howe Gelb (from Giant Sand) and will be an “official” sponsored release with Record Store Day, making it exclusively available through record stores across the world on Saturday, April 16th!
Fort Lowell Records has been releasing artists from (or related to) Tucson AZ for the past year, and there is no better Tucsonan than Howe Gelb to commemorate our 1st anniversary! Howe Gelb is a living legend in the old barrio. He has earned the titles of “The Godfather of Alt-Country” and “The Elder Ambassador of Desert Rock.” For Record Store Day 2011, we bring you two amazing songs from two of Howe Gelb‘s projects: ‘Sno Angel, featuring his Canadian based touring band backed by the Voices Of Praise choir, and Melted Wires, formed from an informal cluster of two members from Giant Sand and two from Calexico.
